How to setup your dot.tk domain

I�m sure many of us wants a free Domain for your websites. So now  I�m gonna discuss about How to get a free dot.tk domain and How to Setup the DNS Settings and the redirect Set up for your new domain.

At Dot.tk You can get a free very short .tk extension for your Domain. Unlike others for example:  NAME.theirsite.com, The extension their is

You can use this Dot.tk if you don�t have any Budget for your Website project or You just want to try the fun of having a free Short Domain. Dot.tk is very good for starting Websites, But if you think you are now getting enough traffic on your site, You can decide to move to your .com or any paid domains for a more Professional Site.

This Tutorial for setting up your .tk domain by using two methods: DNS Setup & Redirect.

TUTORIAL:  ( DNS Set Up)

• First step is to Log In to your Dot.tk account. I think you have done signing up on .tk so you�re here, So let�s not Discuss about Signing Up ( a very easy task).
• Then Click add a Domain, Enter the domain name you like for your site. There are many available domains for .tk, So you may have a chance that your domain is still available.
• Click Next, Then click Use DNS for this Domain.
• Go to your Webhost and make a new account. Note that if you�re using Freehostia, Because now they don�t allow .tk domains and free subdomains to be your URL. So I�ll recommend this Host for you, It offers free hosting up to 10 GB so no worry for your disk limit.
• While making an account, Enter the URL of your .tk domain even it�s not still registered. After creating an account on 1freehosting, Copy the IP address of your account that you can see on your account details. See Below:

• Then insert that IP address on your .tk�s DNS, See Below:

That one IP address should now go into that two textarea. Paste the IP after yourdomainhere.tk and afterwww.yourdomainhere.tk. 

• Make the registration length 12 months. Registered Dot TK users are allowed an unlimited number of domain renewals.
• Don�t forget to enter the CAPTCHA code.

After doing this Set Up, The process of connecting the domain on your host automatically may take up to 1-2 hours ( base on my experience).

• While waiting for your .tk domain to be Valid, You can install scripts like wordpress on your Host to save your time later doing it.
• And now after waiting for minutes or hours, Your .tk domain should now be valid. Try to enter your .tk URL on the navigation bar to try it out if it�s now working.
• You now have your free domain.! 

TUTORIAL ( Redirecting  / Masking):

This pointing of URL is the easiest of all. This may take about a second or a minute to Set up.

You can use this technique if you have a very long URL e.g. www.tronicflow.blogspot.com. So in order to make that short without messing up with the IP. You can just use the URL pointing. This will automatically hide your real URL and will cover it the URL you�ve registered with them.

• Go to your Dot.tk account. Enter the name of your .tk domain you like.
• Next step is to use the 1st method.
• On the referrer URL, Enter your old URL like what I�ve exampled: http://tronicflow.blogspot.com/.

• Make the registration length 12 months.
• Then hit save.

If you will enter your dot.tk url on the navigation bar. The Webpage you will see is your own webpage But with a different URL.
